KENOWA is a foundation managed by the Kenya Navy Officers' Wives Association of Mombasa, to assist in particular girls orphans or children from disadvantaged families.
The KENOWA Children's Centre was born, with support from the Kenya Association for the Advancement of Children's Rights, in 2002. The Centre also assists seven children who live with their relatives.
There are 14 girls (aged between 4 and 15 years old) and 2 educators: at the Centre they can attend school and receive medical care and assistance.
We hope to increase the number of beds. Our aims is to reinsert girls into a family context, with responsible relatives.
